In my veterinary practice, I occasionally see dogs with significant behavioral issues. After I met Sonny, my first opportunity to refer a behavior case to him was in the form of a “meat grinder” Cocker Spaniel named Trucker. Trucker was impossible to touch much less examine in my clinic. He was also a problem at the groomer’s and even at home with his owners.
I finally convinced Trucker’s owner to seek help at Hay Creek Kennel when I learned that her grandchildren were coming to live with her. Sonny worked with Trucker and his owner over two separate weeks last spring and summer.
I recently saw Trucker for the first time since Trucker and his owner were rehabilitated by Sonny. The transformation was amazing! I can say, without question, that Trucker is literally the calmest, most well behaved and well adjusted Cocker Spaniel in my practice. I was able to examine him with no problem and do anything I wanted to do without an untoward reaction on his part. In fact, he was happy to be on the exam table.
There is no doubt in my mind or the owner’s that Sonny saved Trucker’s life. His approach works!

Sonny,
Miley and I got 3rd place in Am Gundog! She did really well…. We ran in the heat of the day and she just smoked the course. We had 4 finds and a stop to flush all with perfect manners, but due to all the bird contacts we were getting behind a lot. Every time I released her though she would storm to the front!
I just wanted to thank you. If it weren’t for you guys Miley wouldn’t be half the dog she is now. I have learned so much from you guys and I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate everything you have done for me and my dog (and future dogs). The Huntsmith Silent Command system is awesome!
Thank you!
Scott Kaufmann (and Miley)

It is difficult for me to find the right words to describe Sonny, Shannon, the girls and Hay Creek Kennel. My first time meeting them and visiting HCK was mid June 2011. It is only the end of August now and I feel like they have taken me in as part of their family! The amount of knowledge that Sonny has been willing to share with me, and the way this family has welcomed me into their everyday lives is positively overwhelming and shows just how much they are dedicated to their work. This incredible knowledge and passion for molding dogs into the best they can be, truly drives this family. Being able to work with the Piekarzs and their dogs on a daily basis has been life changing. I have seen transformations in dogs that are almost beyond belief. The amount of labor, thought, and dedication that goes into the daily work at HCK is something that I will always strive to achieve on my own!
